About Me

Hi, I'm Victor Lai, a recent graduate from Georgia Tech's MS Analytics program. I also earned a bachelor's in business administration from Georgia Tech and online certifications in project management and google analytics. I enjoy helping businesses transform real-world data into usable information that can drive consumer value. I have experience in data analysis, visualization, marketing, and sales, and I'm skilled in tools like SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Excel. In this portfolio are a few of my projects demonstrating my ability to solve problems and create value with data!

Recent Work

Sporting Goods Store RFM Analysis

This project analyzes customer behavior using RFM and CLV segmentation. R was used for data cleaning, exploratory analysis, and quintile creation. The processed data was then imported into Tableau to visualize spending patterns and identify high-value customer segments.

Economic Impacts of COVID-19 Analysis

This project analyzes the impacts of COVID-19 on several U.S. economic indicators. By utilizing regression models and neural networks in R, the study develops 14 relief indexes to identify which economic sectors are most impacted and have the slowest rate of recovery.

BWF Men's Singles Rankings Analysis

This analysis explores the performance of different countries in producing top 200 men’s singles badminton players and helps coaches understand which countries have better training systems and adjust accordingly. Data processed and cleaned through python and SQL is visualized through Tableau.

Iranian Telecom Company Churn

This project analyzes consumer data from an Iranian telecom company to understand customer churn. After conducting exploratory analysis and identifying risks of multicollinearity, we addressed them and applied numerous regression and random forest models to predict which consumers are likely to churn.

Tetouan City Energy Consumption Forecasting

The project identifies patterns and forecast energy consumption in Tetouan, Morocco, using data collected in 2017. The analysis shows that energy consumption exhibits significant hourly and monthly seasonality. We utilized time-series models, including ARIMA, ARIMAX, VAR, and VARX, to obtain forecasts.

Sports Inventory SQL Database

This project is an inventory database for badminton equipment sold under Li-Ning Company Limited in Georgia, USA. The inventory tracks real-world inventory, sponsored equipment, sales, and stringing services data. It uses phpMyAdmin and XAMPP to manage and query the database using SQL.

Shirt Designing for Online Sales

Copyright-free images were downloaded from Canva and finalized in Figma. The designs were uploaded to the third-party print-on-demand platforms Teepublic and Redbubble. The platforms allow me to sell the design on a wide range of products, from shirts to mugs, with no maintenance required.
